More great news for the North East and our great gallery…but once again it will not be announced until 1st October! It did involve John Thompson, Managing Director, going to London for the day and meeting some very important, influential and famous people!!!
We are also happy to announce that we will be supporting a great local Charity who have been established in the North East for 36 years. Laura McBeth, Campaign Manager, approached the gallery to see if we would hold an Art Auction of postcard size original artworks, we were very pleased to be asked and more details will follow.
And finally, dates to remember-6th December-is Small Business Saturday were we will be celebrating in style being in the Top 100 in the country, so please come along for your Christmas Shopping, a glass of champagne and meet the artists!
For anyone who runs a small business knows it has its ups and downs and any support is greatly appreciated. We decided to join the North East Chamber of Commerce to help expand our business and I attended their first one day seminar- I was not disappointed! A great opportunity to shout about our great gallery and very proud to boast about the amazing artistic talent we have here in the North East. There were lots of opportunities to talk with other companies about many different subjects and also good to know that others feel the same, especially about the minefield of social media!
So we continue to spread the word of our great gallery in the heart of Newcastle and once again I would ask you to tell your colleagues, friends & family about us-we are a hidden treasure!
We have some great news-we are in the TOP 100 in the country for Small Business Saturday!
Small Business Saturday is 6th December-keep the day free as we will be having a party to celebrate our success!
We would like to thank everyone for all their support and please help us share this great news!
Denis studied at Edinburgh and London and after many years returned to his native North East. His work depicts a history of the industrial North such as the Tyneside Cranes as well as the iconic Tyne Bridge.
His sold his first two pieces of original work in the gallery within one hour!

Have you ever thought about commissioning a special piece of art & design but never quite knew how to go about it? Here at North East Art Collective we work very closely with our artists & designers who have been commissioned to do many pieces of art & design work. Francesca Simpson for her animal portraits, Rachel Watson for her bespoke jewellery for a wedding day and Darren Munday for a wedding anniversay!
‘I could not believe how easy it was to get a commission, Francesca was lovely. I was quite nervous as I was not sure how she would be able to capture his personality in a painting, but she did. Absolutely beautiful’

Art and nature are my two great interests in life,
so living on the slopes of a beautiful river valley amid a wealth of
wildlife, I am never short of inspiration for painting and drawing.
As an artist I am primarily a watercolourist, preferring to use vibrant
colours and simplified forms to produce works in a more contemporary
style. My work often shows a sense of humour, typified in a four-year run of
cartoons in the prestigious BBC Wildlife magazine, and probably led to
the development of the caricature birds I create now, as I aim to give
the creatures I love observing a character of their own, while keeping
the elements of plumage, colour and form which makes them instantly
